Jim Jordan just told President Joe Biden the jig is up and he is against more funding for Ukraine until the White House does its job and secures the border and makes American streets safe to walk down again.<\/p>\n
Jordan is the frontrunner to be the next Speaker but regardless of who wins, Biden will have a hard time getting any more cash for Ukraine with serious concessions or offset spending.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m against that,\u201d Jordan said of an aid package for Ukraine. \u201cThe most pressing issue on Americans\u2019 mind is not Ukraine \u2014 it is the border situation and it\u2019s crime on streets.\u201d<\/p>\n
Matt Gaetz said: \u201cMy mentor Jim Jordan would be great (as Speaker).<\/p>\n
\u201cI know this, if it\u2019s Speaker Jim Jordan or Speaker Steve Scalise there will be very few conservatives in the country who don\u2019t see that as a monumental upgrade over Speaker McCarthy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., backed Jordan for Speaker.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe face difficult challenges, but the choice is clear: We need Jim Jordan as our next speaker of the House,\u201d Issa said.<\/p>\n
Mitch McConnell offered this piece of advice to the next Speaker:<\/p>\n
\u201cI have no advice to give to the House Republicans except one.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope whoever the next speaker is gets rid of the motion to vacate.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe motion to vacate puts whoever the speaker is in a hammerlock of dysfunction.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it makes the speaker\u2019s job impossible and the American people expect us to have a functioning government.\u201d<\/p>\n
