So, the governor has implemented razor wire, barriers, and the National Guard to prevent border crossings. He passed a law that could send migrants trespassing on private land up to a year in prison.<\/p>\n
Now, he is pushing for another major piece of legislation. This could take the crisis right out of President Biden\u2019s hands. It could make Texas a far less desirable destination for illegal entrants.<\/p>\n

He said that the bill would grant police officers in every agency the authority to arrest migrants entering the state illegally\u2026<\/p>\n\u201cAs a result, in two weeks I\u2019ll be signing a new law in the state of Texas that will make it illegal for people to enter the state of Texas from another country illegally, and authorizing every peace officer in the state of Texas to arrest those people entering our country.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The Texas governor will soon sign a law that will make it a crime for someone to enter Texas from another country illegally. The law will allow all police officers to arrest illegal migrants. Currently, only government agencies are able to aid in securing the border.<\/p>\n
\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nGov. Abbott\u2019s efforts to protect the state\u2019s border with Mexico have already changed the cartels\u2019 patterns. Texas, according to Abbott, is no longer the top entry point for border crossers. That is significant, since the state shares the longest border with Mexico.<\/p>\n
Cartels have shifted to the Arizona and California borders, to shuttle migrants illegally into the country.<\/p>\n
Texas has erected its own border wall, installed barriers in rivers, and used razor wire to discourage illegal crossings. This new law will expand the state\u2019s ability to police the border. Many would-be border crossers will avoid Texas, knowing that police will be able to apprehend them.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear how the left will respond when this bill is signed into law. Democrats have fought the Texas governor over measures to secure the border. The Biden administration even ordered the razor wire to be cut down, to make it easier for border crossers to enter.<\/p>\n
It is possible that Democrats within Texas, or even Biden\u2019s DOJ, will sue to overturn this law. That could lead to large court battles that might affect the entire country.<\/p>\n
