Progressive activists have been protesting against Israel, in favor of Hamas, on college campuses. In New York, several colleges have been overrun by encampments. At Columbia, students even took over a building.<\/p>\n
The damage done is in the hundreds of millions. Jewish students have been targeted and put into danger.<\/p>\n
The city has apparently said, \u201cEnough is enough.\u201d The NYPD cracked down on the protests, arresting many agitators from Columbia and other schools. But when activists tore down the American flag to put up the Palestinian flag, Democrat Mayor Eric Adams read them the riot act.<\/p>\n

\nNew York City Mayor Eric Adams lauded the NYPD on Wednesday after officers swept through anti-American and anti-Israel mobs at two major college campuses overnight, locking up hundreds of agitators.<\/p><\/blockquote>\nHe then ripped into the \u201cdespicable\u201d academic environment that allowed the groups to fester\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cMy uncle died defending this country, and these men and women put their lives on the line \u2013 and it\u2019s despicable that schools will allow another country\u2019s flag to fly in our country,\u201d Adams, a former NYPD captain, told reporters. \u201cSo blame me for being proud to be an American, and, I [thank], Commissioner Daughtry for putting that flag back up. We\u2019re not surrendering our way of life to anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mayor Adams showed a shocking level of patriotism when he denounced anti-Israel activists who have protested in favor of Gaza and Hamas on college campuses. He had previously called out the \u201cantisemitic\u201d slogans and signs being used.<\/p>\n
After protesters removed the American flag to raise the Palestinian flag, New York police \u201cput their lives on the line\u201d to restore the Stars and Stripes. The mayor praised their bravery and restoring law and order to the city.<\/p>\n
Adams recounted how his uncle died defending America. He said he was \u201cproud to be an American\u201d a strong tone we rarely see from Democrats these days. The mayor further condemned universities for allowing this \u201cdespicable\u201d environment that led to this chaos.<\/p>\n
Progressive college students quickly adopted an anti-Israel stance, thanks to far-left professors who fed them a pro-Palestinian, Marxist ideology. But when the protests first erupted last fall, the presidents of top schools did nothing. Some of them even seemed to defend the hateful rhetoric being spread.<\/p>\n
Now, it looks like more and more Americans are pushing back on what has become an anti-American, antisemitic movement.<\/p>\n
