President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance engaged in a fiery back-and-forth with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a public Oval Office meeting on Friday.
\nAt one point, Trump wagged his finger at the Ukrainian leader, who was seated right next to him, and told him he had to \u201cbe thankful\u201d after the U.S. during the Biden administration poured tens of billions in money and military assistance into the war-torn country following Russia\u2019s 2022 invasion.It\u2019s going to be a very hard thing to do business like this,\u201d Trump said, before Vance broke in.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can say \u2018thank you\u2019 \u2013\u201d he began before Zelensky interrupted and said he had thanked \u201cthe American people\u201d many times in the past for their help.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can accept that there are disagreements,\u201d Vance continued, \u201cand let\u2019s go litigate those disagreements rather than trying to fight it out in the American media when you\u2019re wrong. We know you\u2019re wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I want to stop the war,\u201d Zelensky countered. \u201cBut I said to you with guarantees.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBut you\u2019re saying you don\u2019t want a cease-fire,\u201d Trump responded. \u201cI want a cease-fire. Because you\u2019ll get a cease-fire faster than you\u2019ll get an agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
