Bailey returned to school, and life felt normal again. But the cancer came back, forcing him to undergo more chemotherapy and hospital stays. Once again, the treatments seemed to help, and Bailey began feeling better.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey Cooper\u2019s family faced the worst news any parent could hear: their son had cancer. True to his caring nature, Bailey chose gifts that his younger brother, Riley, would enjoy instead.<\/p>\n<p>Just before Christmas, family members came to say their goodbyes. It was then he told his family it was time for him to go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to stay, but it\u2019s my time to go and become her guardian angel,\u201d he said, speaking of his baby sister.<\/p>\n<p>On December 22, Bailey became unresponsive as the cancer took over. His family stayed by his side, reading him stories and playing his favorite music, as they watched him slowly slip away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy Christmas Eve morning, we knew it wouldn\u2019t be long,\u201d his mom, Rachel, said. \u201cAt 11:45 a.m., we were by his side and told him, \u2018It\u2019s time to go, Bailey. Stop.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In that moment, a single tear rolled down Bailey\u2019s cheek. He took his final breath and passed away peacefully.<\/p>\n<p>The loss of their son was devastating, shattering the family\u2019s hearts. But they found comfort in knowing that Bailey was finally free from pain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe feel numb, but we\u2019re also relieved he\u2019s no longer suffering,\u201d said his dad, Lee.<\/p>\n<p>The family now strives to honor Bailey\u2019s wishes, remembering the wisdom he shared despite his young age.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our last family meeting, he told us, \u2018You\u2019re only allowed to cry for 20 minutes. You need to take care of Riley and Millie,\u2019\u201d Rachel recalled.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey\u2019s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. His strength, courage, and positive spirit in the face of hardship have touched people around the world.
