These restrictions follow\u00a0Trump\u2019s\u00a0executive order, signed on January 20, titled \u201cProtecting the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats.\u201d<\/p>\n
The order mandates the Secretary of State, Attorney General, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Director of National Intelligence to submit a report within 60 days, identifying countries with inadequate security screening measures. The\u00a0report\u00a0will also include data on travelers from these nations who have entered the U.S. since January 20, 2021.<\/p>\n
As a result, the 22 countries given a deadline must submit detailed information on their travelers by March 21, or risk further restrictions.<\/p>\n\n
