Reflection on Christ\u2019s Sacrifice and the Call to Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n

For our sake, Christ bore the weight of sin (cf. 2 Cor 5:21), as the Father placed on Him the burden of our faults.<\/p>\n

Pope Benedict XVI called this a\u00a0\u201cturning of God against Himself\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(Deus Caritas Est 12),<\/p>\n

a sign of divine love that embraces even enemies (cf. Mt 5:43-48).<\/p>\n

Through the\u00a0paschal mystery<\/strong>, God invites not empty discussion, like the Athenians \u201cwho spent their time\u2026<\/p>\n

telling or hearing something new\u201d (Acts 17:21), but a\u00a0true dialogue of salvation<\/strong>\u2014<\/p>\n

often drowned out today by distraction and misuse of media.<\/p>\n

Sharing in Christ\u2019s suffering means standing with the\u00a0poor, the innocent, and the marginalized<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Violence, greed, and environmental harm reveal our distance from God, while\u00a0true conversion<\/strong>\u00a0shows itself in generosity and acts of mercy.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0March 26\u201328 in Assisi<\/strong>, young economists and innovators will gather to promote a just, inclusive economy.<\/p>\n

May\u00a0Mary Most Holy<\/strong>\u00a0help us make Lent a time of renewed hearts, reconciliation,<\/p>\n

and faithful witness as\u00a0\u201cthe salt of the earth and the light of the world\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0(cf. Mt 5:13-14).<\/p>\n
