It seems Al \u2018Global Warming\u2019 Gore says that the battle over climate change is no different that some of humanity\u2019s greatest struggles like the fight against slavery, apartheid and nuclear proliferation!<\/h2>\n

In a July 13 speech to the EcoCity World Summit in Melbourne, Australia the former vice president argued combating global warming was \u201cin the tradition of all the great moral causes that have improved the circumstances of humanity throughout our history,\u201d\u00a0according\u00a0to the website Climate Depot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe abolition of slavery, woman\u2019s suffrage and women\u2019s rights, the civil rights movement and the anti-apartheid\u00a0movement in South Africa, the movement to stop the toxic phase of nuclear arms race and more recently the gay rights movement,\u201d Gore said.<\/p>\n

Marc Morano, executive editor for ClimateDepot.com, told\u00a0Fox News he made an audio recording of Gore\u2019s remarks because summit organizers prevented media from videotaping the event.<\/p>\n

Morano, a former communications aide to climate change skeptic Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., also confirmed reports that security staff physically prevented people from taking photos with their cell phones.<\/p>\n

It is not the first time Gore has drawn the parallel between\u00a0global warming\u00a0and civil rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe climate movement should be seen in the context of the great moral causes that have transformed and improved the outlook for humanity,\u201d Gore\u00a0said\u00a0at an green energy awards ceremony in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was wrong to allow slavery to continue, it was wrong to deny women the right to vote, it was wrong to discriminate on the basis of skin color or who you fell in love with,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Yeah dude, it was also wrong to force yourself on young girls and\u00a0make them touch your pathetic wiener.<\/p>\n

In a 2013 interview with The Washington Post, Gore likened climate change \u201cdeniers\u201d to alcoholic fathers who fly off the handle when the issue is mentioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conversation on global warming has been stalled because a shrinking group of denialists fly into a rage when it\u2019s mentioned. It\u2019s like a family with an alcoholic father who flies into a rage every time a subject is mentioned and so everybody avoids the elephant in the room to keep the peace,\u201d he\u00a0explained.<\/p>\n

Gore has been in Australia as part of a tour promoting the upcoming release of \u201cAn Inconvenient Sequel,\u201d the follow-up to the 2006 documentary on global warming.<\/p>\n
