Lake claims election fraud and has taken her grievance to court. Though losing in a lower court, Lake has vowed to escalate her case to a higher court.<\/p>\n<p>In what some see as a preemptive move, Hobbs has asked the court to dismiss Lake\u2019s challenge and cited some of the evidence she anticipates Lake plans to present.<\/p>\n<div id=\"quads-ad9\" class=\"quads-location quads-ad9\">\n<div id=\"M796697ScriptRootC1293469\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a 317-page court filing (pdf) with the Arizona Appeals Court, Hobbs\u2019s team argues that December\u2019s two-day trial in Maricopa County \u201cgave Lake the opportunity to prove her speculative allegations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The filing adds:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDespite seven witnesses, hundreds of declarants, and thousands of pages of exhibits, Lake failed to demonstrate any violations of Arizona law and offered no evidence that absent alleged violations the outcome of the election would have been different.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLake\u2019s arguments to the contrary depend on unsupported and untenable legal standards that would require elections to be thrown out upon mere speculation of election misconduct and conjecture regarding its supposed result,\u201d it said. \u201cBut Arizona law requires much more to disenfranchise millions of Arizonans.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Previously, Lake\u2019s legal team claimed that multiple \u201cprinting errors\u201d in Maricopa County disenfranchised potentially tens of thousands of voters.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, County Supervisor Bill Gates and Recorder Stephen Richer confirmed the printing problems on the day of the election, telling voters to place their ballots in drop boxes or find another place to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs contends that \u201cLake did not establish that the Maricopa County defendants engaged in any misconduct regarding chain of custody documentation, let alone misconduct that would alter the results of the 2022 gubernatorial election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs\u2019 legal team dismissed Lake\u2019s contention that voters were disenfranchised, noting that Lake did not \u201cidentify a single voter,\u201d who couldn\u2019t vote because of the \u201ctabulator issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lake\u2019s legal team did, however, cite independent pollster Richard Baris, who testified he believed \u201ctechnical problems\u201d on election day \u201cdisenfranchised enough voters that it would have changed the outcome of the gubernatorial race,\u201d\u00a0according\u00a0to The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaricopa Election Day voters,\u201d Baris said in court, \u201ctrended Republican\u201d though final tabulations showed Hobbs to be the winner. Baris told the court he estimates \u201cbetween 25,000 and 40,000\u201d were disenfranchised due to \u201cprinter errors,\u201d numbers \u201csignificant enough to change the leader of the race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were widespread issues \u2026 that deterred people from voting\u201d along with \u201clong lines people couldn\u2019t wait in,\u2019\u2019 Baris added. \u201cNot everyone is so intense about politics that life can\u2019t be put aside,\u2019\u2019 he added. \u201cLife gets in the way.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Lake contends that Maricopa officials allegedly \u201cadmitted, after first denying, that illegally misconfigured ballots were injected into the election.\u201d As a result, Lake claims this caused \u201ctabulators to reject tens of thousands of ballots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lake also claims that \u201csworn testimony by whistleblowers employed by Maricopa\u201d show that Maricopa county election officials did not verify mail-in ballot signatures, nor did they keep the proper chain of custody for thousands of ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Arizona Court of Appeals agreed to expedite Lake\u2019s case, now scheduled to be heard on Feb. 1. Hobbs seeks to see the case dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Lake stated cryptically but ominously that her legal team is prepared to introduce new evidence to the court on Feb. 1<\/p>\n<p>Lake said in a Twitter video\u00a0post:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have evidence that has come to light that is very shocking\u2026 Shocking, the levels that they went to cheat. And I believe that when additional evidence comes out, people will wake up.
