\u201cThe official also acknowledged that the driver of the car, Zemari Ahmadi, a longtime worker for a U.S. aid group, had nothing to do with ISIS, as military officials had previously asserted,\u201d the Times reported.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a mistake,\u201d the official said, as noted in the report.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving thoroughly reviewed the findings of the investigation \u2026 I am now convinced that as many as 10 civilians, including up to seven children, were tragically killed in that strike,\u201d head of U.S. Central Command Marine Gen. Kenneth \u201cFrank\u201d McKenzie told reporters Friday, according to The Washington Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is unlikely that the vehicle and those who died were associated with ISIS-K or were a direct threat to U.S. forces,\u201d he added.
